Making the Calendar Pay

From dates of national importance to quirky local celebrations, the calendar rolls round and every year reminds us who we are. Identity is precious - as anyone adding up the cost of the latest celebration will know. But someone’s expenditure is somebody else’s income so why not get on the right side of the exchange?

Like everywhere else, Durham has its own cycle of events that create commercial opportunities. With this in mind, this full day event is all about how we can make the most of the times when Weardale in particular is buzzing and people are ready to spend.

The Dales Centre is keen to meet people who can make good use of its facilities and location to build businesses that will make the dales a fantastic place to engage in the arts, eat great food and become immersed in its heritage.

If you’d like to make money from the opportunities the calendar creates then this FREE full day event is for you.

We will introduce you to the site and the staff team and then we’ll throw ourselves into a fun calendar-inspired ideas generation session - the possibilities are limited only by our imaginations but to help us on our way we’ll also introduce you to examples of businesses that generate trade by keeping a close eye on what’s coming up.

Festivals, exhibitions, souvenir gifts and hands-on workshops make for a great starting point in making the most of the calendar as we know it but we can think about what’s missing too (what is the Weardale equivalent of Groundhog Day?).

Time is money? On this occasion we’re taking this literally so why join us and learn how to make the calendar work for your business?
