Applying for Heritage Lottery Funding

We’re delighted to be teaming up with Steven Hughes, Grants & Development Officer, to uncover the mysteries of applying to the Heritage Lottery Fund. Steven will provide an update on the current funding programmes, offer top tips and explain common pitfalls to applying.

Steven is keen to make this session as interactive as possible so please come prepared to give a brief outline of actual or potential projects/ideas you’re currently working on. This is a great opportunity to hear from the Fund directly on what it is looking for in an application.

Protecting Your Creativity: Intellectual Property Rights and the Arts

There is value in what you create within your business: be it a brand, a product, a website, a training course, a video, some promotion materials. We're jointly hosting this event with the Business & IP Centre from Newcastle Library, and in this session you will hear about how to recognise the intellectual property (IP) you own and use, protect your creations and make sure you are not infringing anyone else’s rights. We will talk about:

  • Know-how
  • Trade marks
  • Designs
  • Patent
  • Copyright

In addition to the workshops you'll have the opportunity to find out how you can access one-to-one support around your own IP issues from the Business & IP Centre.

Byte Your Business - Digital Know-how for Women

We all like a shortcut or tools and techniques that make our work a bit easier and more rewarding, and digital technology fits the bill in lots of ways.

Useful as digital platforms and applications are though, the sheer number of options can be a bit overwhelming and sometimes it’s not enough to know what’s out there, it’s about having the practical know-how to make use of it.

So we’re delighted to announce that we’re working with Digital Durham and Business Durham to help women develop the digital know-how that will give new businesses a flying start and established businesses a chance to grow.

We're running workshop sessions to introduce the programme - click on the title for full details and booking info.
