Meet The Buyer

We are delighted to be working with new North East business Messy Magpie - which is an online card company specifically looking to work with local artists and have a selection of unique designs and images available to customers  via their online card shop. The opportunity is to allow the use of your images on the website for buyers looking to purchase greetings cards and in return you will receive a small payment each time your design is used. Those whose images and works are selected will also receive a framed copy of their first print off the press.

Xmas Market at the Pod, Bishop Auckland

There will be a Christmas indoor market in a venue called ‘Pod’ which has been repurposed venue for the benefit of artists and the creative businesses. It's in the market place right in the centre of Bishop Auckland and will coincide with the switching on of the lights and other events that are planned by the Town Team -  there will also be a Christmas Market and outdoor ice rink at Auckland Castle, so we are anticipating a good footfall.

Keeping it Legal

For our first Creative Exchange of the autumn we have teamed up with NE Law, who are based in Moor Chambers here in Durham.

Partners Janet Potts and Michelle Coulson will be giving an informal but informative talk on how to be legally compliant when running a business and are offering you the chance to talk to them one to one and the option to run through a free legal audit.

NE LAW pride themselves on being a friendly, approachable and local business. As a relatively new business themselves they are well in tune with the needs of new enterprises and are keen to share the lessons learned from dealing with all sorts of business related matters for their clients - from checking leases, to helping develop terms and conditions for websites or online shops, to partnership agreements and employment law.

The event is taking place on 28 Septmber 2015 from 5 til 7.30 in The e-volve Centre just off the A690 on the outskirts of Durham.
